The 2012 vintage came back from the cool 2010 and 2011 vintages to a warm year nearly as hot as 2009. Cooling down in September, Estate Merlot grapes were harvested on October 10th in perfect condition and ripeness. Dark, nearly black color, dark cherry and blackberry aromas with a hint of vanilla and toasty oak. Very ripe, dark fruit flavors, broad full palate, layered, long finish. 8% Estate Syrah in the blend adds a spicy accent.
A full bodied, rich Merlot that will age and develop for many years. 92% Merlot, 8% Syrah. 322 cases produced.
